As part of HP’s presence at the 2009 FOSE Conference and Exhibition, the company unveiled the following offerings:

“The federal government and its agencies are being asked to increase efficiency, enhance security and drive down costs, all while providing more effective services to citizens,” said John Tomesco, vice president, Worldwide Business Development and Marketing, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “Only HP delivers the necessary components to create strategic solutions for such a wide range of government administration needs.”

HP technology solutions for public sector

HP Access Control Smartcard Solution for U.S. Government uses the HP Common Access Card to enable tighter security options with imaging and printing network authentication for government employees. Designed to assist in complying with stringent identification and security mandates, including Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), this solution not only verifies users at the door, but also at network-connected devices. The features include e-mail signing and encryption, mandatory identification, physical and logical access capabilities, public key infrastructure (PKI) authentication including Kerberos authentication, encryption and digital signing certificates.

HP Automated Data Removal Solution streamlines the redaction process of sensitive documents using HP multifunction printers and scanners. Authorized users can capture, index and route documents using intuitive workflow options accessed directly from the device. As a result, it reduces the challenge of the previous manual, time-consuming processes with lower-cost and higher-productivity automation.

HP Government Case Processing Accelerator Solution enables government workers to capture and upload critical case-related information at the source. Designed to meet the rising influx of citizen requests, this end-to-end solution manages the capture, workflow and retrieval of sensitive data in real-time, helping reduce processing times, error rates and lost documents.

Voluntary Product Accessibility Template is available for HP Exstream. The template describes how HP Exstream software assists with meeting key regulations of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires all agencies and departments of the U.S. government to make electronic information and technology accessible to federal employees with disabilities. HP Exstream enterprise document automation software offers a common platform that seamlessly supports high-volume, on-demand and interactive document applications of all types, regardless of complexity, variability or output channel.

The HP StorageWorks EVA6400/8400 and SVSP 2.1 enable federal customers to get more out of their storage infrastructures by improving capacity utilization and maximizing performance of their storage-area network (SAN) environments. These solutions allow federal employees to reallocate hardware and management resources to other key areas, simplifying storage management across both virtual and physical environments.
