HP Signs Strategic Marketing Agreement with Omnicom

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 18, 2008 - HP today announced that it has formed a strategic relationship with Omnicom Group Inc. to drive forward the global communications strategy for the company’s Imaging and Printing Group and to develop a digital print supply chain that will streamline the creation, management and printing of marketing campaign materials.

HP also announced that Omnicom’s BBDO will join its sister agency, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, in continuing to evolve the company’s award-winning “What do you have to say?” marketing campaign.

HP Goes Outside the Box to Save Print Dominance

Four times a year, Gartner and a host of other technology research firms issue updated surveys on the printing business—looking at total units shipped and breaking out market-share.

Because of HP's longstanding dominance in printing, these surveys can often read like a report on how far the number two and number three players are behind HP.

In its most current survey, for instance, Gartner shows that HP held the leading market-share in page printers, inkjet printers and inkjet MFPs (multifunction printers), the all-in-one machines that combine printing, copying, faxing and scanning functions, and are currently one of the growth engines of the printing business.

HP Announces Winners of “What Do You Have To Say?” Small Business Contest

HP today announced the winners of its “What Do You Have To Say?” Small Business Contest, a nationwide competition offering small businesses the chance to build their brand.

The contest, which ran from Jan. 15 through Feb. 28, asked small businesses in the United States to share “what their business has to say” and make a case for their need to jumpstart their brand building and marketing efforts.

Entrants submitted essays and supporting images for a chance to work with professional designers to refresh or create their brand image.

HP Awarded Imaging and Printing Contract from United States Air Force

HP today announced that it has been awarded a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement with the United States Air Force to deploy a breadth of HP single function and multifunction printers, services, supplies and management software.

HP was selected by the Air Force for its proven ability to assess and manage imaging and printing devices and processes on a global scale.

HP Unveils Imaging and Printing Devices, Solutions and Services for Enterprises

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 8, 2008 - HP today announced a broad expansion of its imaging and printing portfolio for large businesses.

The company's latest offerings help enterprises manage, secure and simplify their imaging and printing environments and improve workflows to reduce costs and enhance productivity.

The new offerings include six HP LaserJet printers, an enterprise-class scanner for document capture, three access control printing solutions, four printing services and an accreditation, certification and test program for HP's software solution development partners.

HP also extended the reach of its $300 million "What Do You Have To Say?" global interactive marketing campaign to target large businesses. In the expansion, print and online advertising and interactive tools will showcase how 3M worked with HP to globally reduce its device count by 47 percent and save more than $3 million in just two years.

HP and State of California Initiate Environmental Printing Program with Goal to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 500 Tons per Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 7, 2008 - HP today announced it has partnered with the State of California to implement a print cartridge recycling and environmental printing program throughout State agencies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 500 tons per year after full implementation.(1)

The collaborative program couples print cartridge recycling with a unique rewards system that provides points toward upgrading printers to more efficient HP models. Piloted with the State Board of Equalization last year, the program begins with free return and recycling services for HP ink and toner cartridges through the HP Planet Partners program. If fully implemented statewide, the program would divert 100 tons of print cartridges from landfills annually.(2)

HP Reports Social and Environmental Progress and Goals in Fiscal Year 2007

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 03, 2008 - HP today issued its annual Global Citizenship Report that outlines the company’s progress, as well as challenges, for fiscal year 2007.

Announced at the FOSE 2008 tradeshow, the HP Forms and Document Automation Solution allows users to create professional-looking documents on-demand and automatically distribute them to the point of need.

Additionally, the solution eliminates high costs associated with warehousing and processing of pre-printed forms, thus enabling public sector customers to reallocate funds to mission-critical projects.
